THE CROSS: HOW DOES YOUR PARISH MEASURE?

Missionary Discipleship is about the Cross...
Note that in the cross, the vertical beam holds up the horizontal. If our commitment to multiplying missionary disciples (horizontal) is without a basis of deepening missionary disciples (vertical), we'll end up with neither.

Note in John 6 that Jesus allowed many to leave because the teaching on the Eucharist was too difficult (horizontal). Further note that it was an occasion for engaging and establishing authentic disciples (vertical): "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Note that this deepening was, and will be, the basis of multiplication... to the ends of the earth.

Aspiring quarterbacks have Aaron Rodgers. Aspiring violinists have Joshua Bell. Where can the aspiring missionary disciple coming into your parish find it being lived with excellence? Is this the evident, primary goal of your pastoral team's use of time, treasure and talent? How is your parish doing in the two-fold "cross metrics" (measure) of the "most important mission" we've been entrusted: to deepen and multiply missionary disciples?

We are about the "most important mission" of parishes becoming dynamic communities of missionary disciples. Contact us
